Nature reserves are increasingly important havens for wildlife in often hostile landscapes. Many of the UK's rarest birds now breed only on nature reserves, and for many others they provide vital winter bases or stop-overs on long migration flights. The RSPB manages nearly 170 nature reserves for the benefit of wildlife.
Most of our reserves are open to visitors and are excellent places to see birds and other wildlife. Some also have great shops and tea-rooms - something for everyone.
