The house, built for the Chichesters in c1822, still with much original furniture, is full of collections for every taste. Many, personally collected by Miss Rosalie Chichester include model ships, costume, pewter, shells and many other fascinating objects. Housed in the stables is the Trust's large collection of horse-drawn carriages. Carriage rides through the 11 hectares of peaceful, informal gardens and past the formal, terraced, Victorian garden, start from the front of the house. There are miles of walks through woods and the parks grazed by Jacob sheep Red Devon cattle.
