A trip to Milestones, Hampshire's living history museum in Basingstoke, brings the past to life. The museum is home to over 20,000 objects either made or used in Hampshire, and is a record of the county's social, industrial and transport history. Visitors can literally take a trip back in time, with a walk through the late 1800s and 1900s streets equipped with shops, factories, a garage, houses, vintage vehicles, a Romany encampment and a Victorian showground - and don't miss the Baverstoke Arms working pub!
The museum is suitable for all ages, with plenty to keep the whole family occupied. Younger visitors can explore the museum's specially-created Post Office and explore the museum through a range of I-Spy trails. Older visitors can enjoy a trip to the Gramophone shop – and hear favourite tunes from years gone by.
Milestones has been purpose built to give best access to all visitors and has plenty of free parking on-site. Why not visit the café or Edwardian pub or browse in the fully-stocked gift shop?
There’s always something new to see and do at the museum. Watch out for the changing events and exhibitions’ programme which is listed on our website, www.milestones-museum.com.
