Chichester Cathedral has various styles of architecture, from Norman to perpendicular and has a detached bell tower. It is the site of the shrine of St Richard of Chichester who died in 1253. There are Romanesque carvings, a Chagall window, paintings by Graham Sutherland and other artists, tapestries by John Piper and Ursula Benker-Schirmer and a font by John Skelton.
