A grand Palladian mansion built c1730 by the Venetian architect Leoni and notable for its 2-storey Marble Hall. The house is filled with a collection of 18thC furniture, porcelain, textiles and carpets acquired in the 1920s by Mrs HannahGubbay. The Ivo Forde Meissen collection of Italian comedy figures and Mortlake tapestries can also be seen. The attractive gardens contain a parterre, grotto, sunken Dutch garden and a Maori house with a fascinating history. Also home to the Royal Surrey Regiment Museum.
