A restored, mainly Tudor/Stuart building, with a famous 17thC Guildhall clock and court room with 17thC panelling and stained glass windows. Visitors can see oil paintings and many other items of historical interest. There is also a 17thC council chamber on the upper level. The building houses the Civic plate and many rare items. The classical front of the building is dominated by a magnificent bracket clock made in 1683.
