The Shetland Museum situated across from Lerwick Town Hall, provides an interesting insight into island life both past and present. The extensive displays of archaeology, folk life, social history and maritime subjects are always being updated. Numerous changing exhibitions of local contemporary art are also on show in the museum gallery.
