West Berkshire Museum is located a short walk from Newbury's market place. Housed in the Grade 1 listed 17C Cloth Hall and the Grade 2C listed Granary. These wonderful buildings are full of objects from the surrounding area.
Our collections include Social History, Fine Art, Decorative Art, Archaeology, Costume, Jewellery, Civil War and local trades. The museum houses a display from the British Balloning Museum and library to highlight the local pioneers of hot air ballooning. This display was changed at the end of 2007.
In the reception area you will find a reference library and souvernir and book shop.
