All ages will find something to enjoy at the farm: rare breed British animals being saved from extinction, careful breeding programmes to maintain exquisite rare breeds of rabbit (50 on display), and poultry (20 types), baby animals to stroke and feed at most times in the new handling pens. Many special areas are under cover while there are still 42 acres of countryside and play areas to explore, including nature trails.
At peak times there are twice daily pig races, a sheep parade, chick/rabbit handling and tractor-trailer rides. New play areas, buildings and facilities, inlcuding a new indoor play barn, are being added to increase the range of physical activities and under cover space to complement a day out in the country. Wet or dry there is plenty to do. Teachers’ packs available. ‘Be a farmer for a day!’ packages for those special birthday or anniversary presents. Youth Hostel opening January 2008.
