Skaill House offers a unique insight into Orkney history. This important 17thC mansion house was built in 1620 for Bishop Graham and was renovated and opened to the public by the present Laird in 1997. See the bishop's bed, Captain Cook's dinner service and a Norse calendar, plus other items of family memorabilia collected over 400 years by the Lairds of Skaill. The house is open under a joint ticketing arrangement with Skara Brae, Historic Scotland.
