Explore our three giant halls for a complete family experience packed full of incredible trains and interactive fun. Discover the fascinating Story of the Train. With true railway legends such as Shinkansen, the sleek 'Bullet Train' and Mallard the fastest ever steam locomotive, plus a replica of Stephenson's Rocket, this is your chance to see the really big names in trains. And now they have been joined by perhaps the most famous name of them all, the legendary Flying Scotsman*. Admission to the NRM is FREE for everyone except for certain special events such as Thomas the Tank Engine**. **The museum reserves the right to charge for certain special events, this does not apply to the core collection, please check before visiting and to find out about our ever changing programme of events by calling 0844 815 3139. *Please note Flying Scotsman is currently undergoing a statutory overhaul in the Workshop.
