Bath International Music Festival, one of the most prestigious music festivals in the UK, celebrates it's 60th anniversary in 2008.
Artistic Director Joanna MacGregor’s programme features an eclectic lively mix of classical, contemporary, jazz, world, electronica and folk music, which draws on the best of the past whilst looking boldly to the future.
This year’s Festival includes performances by the London Symphony Orchestra, directed by former Festival Artistic Director Sir Colin Davis, the Great Voices of Bulgaria choir, and opera from the Armonico Consort.
On Friday 23 May from 6pm, Party in the City celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Music Festival by bringing alive venues across the city.
Enjoy performances in dozens of venues and outdoor spaces, ending with an exciting outdoor show in the heart of the city and dancing to a scintillating Brazilian Orchestra, all completely FREE.
Bath International Music Festival takes place every year in May/June, with tickets for the 2008 festival going on sale on 17 March.
