Day-time in Belfast

Ulster Museum

Story of Belfast

Absorb the spirit of the past in the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum's atmospheric town of Ballycultra. This tells the story of life in Ulster in the early 1900s through costumed interpretation and a varied programme of activities, crafts and skills. The award winning galleries of the Transport Museum display Ireland’s most comprehensive transport collections from horse drawn cart to Irish built motor cars, from the mighty steam locomotives which graced our railways to the history of ship and boat building.

The Ulster Museum has an award-winning Early Ireland gallery and outstanding ‘Made in Belfast’ exhibits. Displays and exhibitions are complemented by a series of spectacular events for adults, children and families throughout the year.

Fernhill House is a neighbourhood museum that tells the poignant story of Belfast's Shankill district in the words of those who lived, loved and died there. Be sure to see the re-creation of a typical 'wee kitchen house' in the 1930s.
