Getting around
Northern Ireland has a frequent and punctual integrated bus/train network run by one company, Translink. There are three main Translink services: Citybus, serving Belfast and suburbs; Ulsterbus, operating services to all parts of the region, to major cross-Border destinations and across the Channel; and Northern Ireland Railways (NIR), with four main lines - to Larne, Bangor, Londonderry/Portrush, and Dublin – serving intermediate stops and NIR suburban stations.
Citybus provides a regular and reliable service across the Belfast area. ‘Smartlink’ enables passengers to purchase and store journeys on a personal card in advance. Ask for advice on which card is best for you when you purchase at the Citybus kiosk at Donegall Square West, or at a participating agent displaying the Smartlink sign. Centrelink service: 100 connects the city centre with the main bus and rail stations around the city. Travel on Centrelink is free on production of a valid bus or rail ticket. For all bus and rail timetable enquiries Call 028 90 66 66 30 or visit www.translink.co.uk (www.translink.co.uk).
Value Cabs (Tel: 028 9080 9080) operate 24 hours a day. Value Cabs is Northern Ireland's largest taxi and chauffeur-drive company. Ranks for London-style metered cabs are at the main stations, airports, ferry terminals and Donegall Square, or call 028 9080 9080 and they will send a car to collect you and drop you wherever you want.
Flights to Belfast from London Heathrow, London Gatwick and/or London City Airports can be purchased from BMI (www.flybmi.com), EasyJet (www.easyjet.com), British Airways (www.britishairways.com) and Flybe (www.flybe.com).
