Shopping in Wales's capital, Cardiff, is a real pleasure as most of the city is pedestrianised and there is an abundance of trees and shrubs.
Seven glass-canopied Victorian and Edwardian shopping arcades give the city centre a unique character as well as protecting shoppers from the sometimes unpredictable British weather.
There are also three modern shopping malls: Queen's Arcade, Capitol Centre and St David's. And look out for Welsh craft shops that sell woollen items, Celtic jewellery and lovespoons, the traditional Welsh courting gift.
