Night-time in Manchester

Chinatown

Restaurants

Legend has it that you can eat for 30 days in Manchester without covering the same style of cuisine. A great place to start is the city’s buzzing, restaurant-filled Chinatown. Try the Yang Sing, once hailed as ‘the best Chinese restaurant in Europe’ by Times critic, Jonathan Meades. Another area devoted to ethnic food is Rusholme. You can choose from nearly 100 Indian restaurants all within a neon lit kilometre of Wilmslow Road.

You don’t have to go to China or the sub-continent to taste the best. You’ll find quality restaurants all around. For Traditional British try Sam’s Chophouse, for Modern British Simply Heathcotes, for French try Le Mont in Urbis, for classic Italian try Stock and for lively and authentic Spanish fare try El Rincon.

Alfresco dining has become the norm rather than the exception in Manchester. The city streets are lined with pavement cafés – perfect for people watching.

Every year Manchester plays host to a celebration of culinary excellence with The Manchester Food & Drink Festival. Visit Manchester Food and Drink Festival (www.foodanddrinkfestival.com/)
