Oxford enjoys a year-round programme of concerts and recitals by the finest musicians, at outstanding venues. These include large classical music concerts at The Sheldonian Theatre, where Handel performed in 1733! The Holywell Music Room is Europe’s first purpose built concert hall, where you can enjoy intimate chamber music events. The Jacqueline Du Pré Music Building at St Hilda’s College offers remarkably varied concerts, recitals and other musical activities which range from medieval music to jazz.
For modern pop music , there are bands playing in a wide number of the city’s bars and venues. The Zodiac Club is Oxford's premier live music and club venue, attracting some of the biggest acts around.
You can also dance the night away at one of the city’s nightclubs, which offer a range of music styles. Popular venues include Po-Na-Na Souk Bar, Park End Club and The Old Fire Station.
