Getting around
Portsmouth is an easy city to get around on foot, particularly as the historic waterfront area is linked by extensive walkways and nowhere on our must-see list is far apart. The city’s most popular visitor areas have been divided into quarters and each one has been assigned a special colour, which is shown on maps and information points – making it easy for visitors to pinpoint exactly where they are and where they want to be.
For those who prefer to put their feet up, a comprehensive bus network operates across the city, with ferries connecting Portsmouth with nearby Gosport and the Isle of Wight.
