Bargain hunters will be drawn to the indoor markets set within the beautiful Victorian architecture of the Market Hall or the Eagle Market, while regular Farmers' markets take place on the third Thursday of each month in the Market Place.
 
Festivals, Arts & Culture...
Derby Festé is an annual celebration each September where the streets come alive with intriguing arts performances.  Continue the cultural scene with Derby LIVE's all year round programme of entertainment at The Assembly Rooms, Guildhall Theatre and Derby Playhouse.  If the world of dance is more your scene, Déda (Derby Dance) will certainly appeal with dance performances and classes on offer.
 
Be among the first to visit QUAD - a newly opened contemporary art gallery, independent cinema and cafe bar set in a stunning modern setting in the Market Place, or enjoy a more traditional art scene at the Derby Museum & Art Gallery where you will find the world's largest collection of Joseph Wright paintings.  Two more museums await too - The Silk Mill, Derby's Museum of Industry & History - one of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site attractions, and Pickford's House - a Georgian lifestyle dream!  Don't forget Royal Crown Derby too!  The factory that supplies the world's Royal Crown Derby china is still situated in the city.
