King’s Lynn is more than just a medieval port. The town is now a treasure trove for history lovers with narrow streets and handsome merchant houses in the old town, the only surviving Hanseatic warehouse in the country and plenty of fascinating visitor attractions to help bring the olden days alive.
When you tire of the history, take a stroll round The Walks, our impressive parkland where you can feed the ducks, enjoy a picnic or listen to the music drifting over from the Victorian bandstand. Down by the river, you can take a ferry over to the west bank and take in the outstanding view of King’s Lynn’s townscape.
Arts lovers won’t be disappointed either. We’ve got two great venues offering music, dance and drama, modern art galleries and exhibition rooms, a Victorian-style cinema and the renowned King’s Lynn Festival, which celebrates a whole host of arts events around the town, and Festival Too with it’s popular free outdoor concerts.
When all this activity tires you out, you’ll need somewhere to eat and drink – and there’s plenty in King’s Lynn - you’re bound to find something that takes your fancy. And once you feel revived and refreshed, take in a show at one of the town’s two theatres, or a trip into the countryside to a welcoming village pub.
