Pershore

Set on the banks of the River Avon, Pershore is famous for its fruit and vegetable production, with markets selling lots of local produce from Victoria plums to the infamous asparagus.  There are Festivals held in honour for the harvests of these crops; the Asparagus Festival in May, and the Plum Festival in August where visitors come from afar to sample the fresh food and return with seasonal provisions to their home.

The River Avon plays an important part in attracting visitors to Pershore as it is a popular stop off for boat traffic and fishermen.  The river meanders through the Vale of Evesham passing through pictureque villages and lush green countryside making the River Avon one of the most tranquil waterside settings in Britain.  Pershore is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is haven for cyclists and ramblers with towpaths and footpaths linking the rural landscape.

From Mid March to the end of May the signposted Spring Blossom Trail (driving & cycling) circles the Vale of Evesham discovering the beautiful sights and smells of the apple and plum blossom.
