There are miles of tracks and footpaths to be explored including two of Britain’s nationally recognised long distance footpaths – the Saxon Shore Way and the North Downs Way. The countryside is rich and varied with forests and woods, rivers and orchards, high-level downland and low-lying marshland.

Hand-in-hand with the region’s natural assets is a rich unrivalled heritage. The area boasts a range of art galleries, theatres, museums, wild animal parks, castles, historic monuments - and more festivals than in any other part of Britain. 

There is a glorious coastline spanning more than 80 miles with miles of sand, quiet bays, rocky inlets, white cliffs and wild shingly beaches all within easy reach of wherever you choose to stay in the region. France is enticingly close too, with ferry and tunnel crossings, providing an ideal day out.

Not for nothing is Kent called the Garden of England - and all that is best about the county is captured here in Canterbury and Coastal Kent.
