Axbridge is an attractive market town at the foot of the Mendip Hills. The town is characterised by its complete medieval square which is made up of half -timbered buildings.
The most famous building in the town, King John’s Hunting Lodge, is set in the square and houses the Axbridge and District Museum.
Axbridge also has a good supply of specialist shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants and is only a few minutes drive from Cheddar Gorge. The nearby Mendip Hills also provide numerous opportunities for walkers, cyclists and other outdoor pursuit enthusiasts.
