Gulliver’s Eco Park in Milton Keynes is perfect for a fun and educational family day out. Children can learn about the world around them through the interactive rides and activities, which explore the history of dinosaurs, recycling, wildlife and energy.
At Gulliver’s, children can learn about topics like sustainability, healthy eating and recycling in a lively hands-on way. Many aspects of the way the Eco-Park has been designed and built promote sustainable development; there are solar panels, grey water tanks, grass roofing, natural air conditioning and utilisation of waste products.
The hands-on activities, rides and experiences are split into 4 categories: evolution, land, water and energy. The Evolution area is divided into 3 sections: Jurassic, Crustaceous and Ice Age, and throughout the area you’ll see over 30 life-sized dinosaurs and prehistoric animals. You and your family can discover the story of evolution and experience life as it might have been millions of years ago.
In the Land area, you’ll find out more about vegetables, crops and recycling. Find out how you can use various crops in the Tractor Ride and Canal Ride; visit the Recycling Centre which deals with the rubbish from the Eco-Park; and take part in the interactive show.
Don’t miss the Water area’s picturesque lake, where you can hire a pedal boat or take a lake cruise. If the weather’s good, enjoy Milton Keynes’ first ever beach on the side of the lake, and enjoy the waterside entertainment at the outdoor Globe Theatre. The exciting new Energy area opens in 2008/9, and the activities, rides and experiences will look at the many ways we use energy and some innovative ways of saving it.
