Match Point locations

Match Point is set in the vibrant and busy city of London featuring some of the capital's most interesting and historic landmarks. Let the film inspire you to come to London and explore the wonderful landmarks for yourself.

Covent Garden Hotel

If you want to relive the ambience of the film, you should stay at the chic Covent Garden Hotel (www.firmdale.com/covent.html) in London. Allen used this luxurious boutique hotel including its trendy restaurant, Brasserie Max for several scenes. A popular spot for pre and post-theatre dinners, it boasts excellent modern British cuisine.

Royal Opera House

Royal Opera House & Palace Theatre

Covent Garden (www.firmdale.com/covent.html) is one of London's liveliest districts, and home to some of the city's best theaters, restaurants, bars, clubs and shops. In the film, the Hewett family attends performances at the Royal Opera House (www.royaloperahouse.org.uk/) and characters attend a performance of 'The Woman in White' at the Palace Theatre.

Park

Englefield Estate

An hour north of London, you can visit the grounds of the fictional Hewett country home, better known as Englefield Estate (www.englefieldestate.co.uk) in Berkshire. You'll remember the stunning landscape from Chris and Nola's steamy roll through the grass. The home itself is not open to the public, but you can wander through 1,800 acres of picturesque woodlands and gardens.

The Kiss in the Tate Gallery

Tate Modern

The Tate Modern (www.tate.org.uk/modern/default.htm) provides the backdrop to one of the most intense scenes in the film. This gallery, 1 of 4 Tate sites, is the home of the national collection of international modern art from 1900 to the present day.

Portobello Market

Notting Hill

Many of the outdoor shots in Match Point were filmed in Notting Hill, West London. Here you can visit The Audley, a pub visited by Chris and Chloe in the film and one of Allen's favourite London watering holes.

Chelsea

Match Point was also filmed in the fashionable borough of Chelsea. Take a stroll down King's Road and sample some of London's most avant-garde and eclectic boutiques housed in some of the city's oldest and most traditional buildings.

For an unforgettable meal in Chelsea, ask for a conservatory table at the sensual Indian restaurant, Chutney Mary (www.chutneymary.com/index.htm) or dine at the upscale Gordon Ramsay at 68 Royal Hospital Road (www.gordonramsay.com/royalhospitalroad/) to have an exquisite dining experience of New French cuisine.
