George Gale & Co. Ltd

George Gale & Co. Ltd have been brewing ales in Horndean for the past 150 years and brewing still takes place on the original site. The brewery tours are temptingly delicious and a visit provides the visitor with the chance to discover the heritage behind the traditional art of brewing. After an audio visual presentation, visitors can savour the smells of traditional brewing at its best and be lured by the wholesome aroma of yeast, hops and barley as they are shown the brewery well, mill room, mash tun, copper, open wooden fermenting vessels and cellar. More importantly for some, at the end of the tour is the opportunity to enjoy samples of Gales award-winning ales, or for those not partial to a pint, Gales Old Country Wines are also available to sample.

Tours

Tours can be booked for groups:

• Monday - Saturday all year during the day at 1030 or 1430.
• Monday - Friday in the evening at 1700.
• Individuals or very small groups need to telephone for tour availability or can come to the brewery shop on a Tuesday at 1030 from June to September, when a tour is readily available.
