Shopping in Leeds
Knightsbridge of the North
Harvey Nichols chose Leeds for their first prestigious store outside London, thus giving the city its name 'Knightsbridge of the North'. You can shop till you drop among the 1,000 or so shops set in stunning architectural surroundings such as the Victoria Quarter, the Corn Exchange, the Headrow Centre, Leeds Shopping Plaza and The Light.
Buying made simple
Leeds’ 1,000 shops are neatly arranged in a large pedestrianised zone – so you won’t wear out your shoes here. The Victoria Quarter (three elegant, interconnected Victorian arcades in marble, wrought iron and stained glass) is centre of the action with Vivienne Westwood, Space NK Apothecary, Ted Baker and more. The Corn Exchange offers locally designed fashion, art and jewellery. At Granary Wharf, you’ll find hippie-chic and Moroccan and Far Eastern textiles and ornaments.
The super market
Kirkgate’s 600 stalls tout everything from fresh bread to precious stones.
