Malham Cove (Malham)
There's a lot to see in this part of the Pennine Way. Malham Cove, situated above the village of Malham, is a great limestone amphitheatre formed from ice and water erosion over the last 1 million years. When you're at the top, you'll see amazing views of the countryside.
Gordale Scar
Gordale Scar, 1 and a half miles east of Malham, is a gigantic collapsed cave system which forms a twisting gorge between limestone cliffs. This spectacular geological wonder has been attracting visitors to the area for over 200 years. The gorge is 400 ft deep, and it's well worth taking a tour of the inside.
Janet's Foss
Janet's Foss is a small waterfall in Malham. The deep pool below the waterfall was traditionally used for sheep dipping, which was a social occasion for the village. Legend has it that a fairy queen used to live in the cave behind the waterfall. Don't miss the chance to visit these magical surroundings when you reach Malham.
