High Force (Teesdale)

Next, the Pennine Way takes you to High Force, on the River Tees. At 70 feet high, High Force is one of the highest waterfalls in England. The descent down the gentle slops gives you different views of this magnificent waterfall every few yards. It's well worth a visit, but children must be supervised at al times.

High Cup Nic & Cauldron Snout

The Pennine Way then takes you to High Cup Nic (www.nationaltrail.co.uk/PennineWay/gallery_image.asp?PageId=21&ImageId=27), a spectacular U-shaped valley. Stop and admire the views from the top before Cauldron Scout (www.nationaltrail.co.uk/pennineway/gallery_image.asp?PageId=21&ImageId=33) waterfall. At 200 yards long, it's one of the longest waterfalls in England, and is home to some plant species dating back form the Ice Age.
