Tube Travel

London Underground

The Tube (www.tfl.gov.uk) (subway/underground/metro) is of course the easiest and fastest way to travel around London with a massive network, which is easy and safe to use. The cheapest option is the Travel Card, see below.

London Travelcards

Travelcards can be purchased for 1, 3 or 7 days and allow unlimited travel on ALL forms of public transport.

Oyster card

Oyster Cards

Oyster Cards (www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/fares-tickets/oyster/general.asp) are a great option if you are planning to spend any amount of time in London. These plastic ‘smart cards’ can be charged with Travelcards, season tickets or cash, and save you money on fares, whilst making your journey easier as you simply swipe your card when using any form of public transport.

Buses

By using London buses (www.tfl.gov.uk/buses/) you get chance to see a lot more of the city and save money, One Day Bus Passes are only £3.00.

Family & Group Travelcards

These offer substantial discounts for families and groups of one or two adults travelling with up to four children. Each member of the group receives a separate ticket. Members of the group do not need to be related, but they must travel together at all times. They’re valid from 09:30 Mondays to Fridays, from 00:01 Saturday, Sunday and public holidays and for any journey that starts before 04:30 on the following day. See Transport for London (www.tfl.gov.uk) for more details.
