The Llangollen International Eisteddfod brings an explosion of music, song and dance to the small town of Llangollen in northeast Wales from 6–12 July.
The festival is a truly international event and has seen the likes of Pavarotti, Kiri Te Kanawa, Lesley Garrett and Bryn Terfel as well as countless dance groups, orchestras and other performers from all over the world.
Each year entrants from around 50 countries compete in different disciplines and take part in the colourful street parade which winds its way through the streets of the town. Many wear national dress for the whole week adding an extra exotic flavour to the carnival atmosphere.
This year Sir Willard White and Barbara Dickson will perform and the festival will culminate in a James Bond extravaganza with fantastic fireworks and music from the Bond movies.
The eclectic Llangollen Fringe follows the main festival with smaller alternative acts playing in the last two weeks of July.
