Gay Brighton
Getting there
Brighton is conveniently located just 30 minutes by train from Gatwick International airport. Passengers arriving at Heathrow will have to travel to Victoria station in central London and take a train from there. Depending on schedules and stops, your journey should take no longer than two hours.
Coach services from London are plentiful with National Express (www.nationalexpress.com/) from Victoria Coach station. Schedule approximately one and a half hours travel time between the two points.
If you’ve rented a car and are driving from the capital, follow directions to the M25 and head south along the M23/A23. Once you’ve left the M25, it shouldn’t take you longer than 45 minutes. Avoid the rush hour between 5 pm and 7 pm at all costs as your journey time could as much as triple.
Getting around
Taxis are plentiful in Brighton, but you probably won’t need them seeing as the city centre is compact and easily walkable. Buses run routes throughout the city for a flat fare of £1.20. For a quick overview of Brighton’s layout and popular sights, consider taking the Open-Topped Bus Tour. One hour and £6.50 is all it will take you to catch all the major tourist spots. Hopping on and off is permissible throughout the day if you want to spend more time at a particular location.
