Glasgow

Getting there

Two international airports serve the city of Glasgow – Glasgow International and Glasgow Prestwick. Glasgow International Airport  is located eight miles west of the city and welcomes the bulk of international scheduled airline service. To get to the centre of town is really easy, take the Glasgow Airport Link bus from outside the arrivals level.

Buses leave every 15 minutes, taking 25-30 minutes to reach their final destination.

Glasgow Prestwick services mostly charter airlines and is located 30 miles southwest of the city. Trains to and from Central Station take 45 minutes to make the journey and leave every 30 minutes.

Edinburgh Airport is the main hub for the Scottish capital. While no long-haul international flights land here, numerous domestic and short-haul airlines include the airport on its routings. The airport is 10 miles west of the city center.

All three airports are easily reached from other parts of the United Kingdom, including London and Manchester.

Getting around

Glasgow has both buses and a subway system in operation to help you get around. Buses run throughout and the subway is really easy for travel between the city centre and the West End.

Due to its compact size, Edinburgh is easily explored on foot, however its hills may make you wish you hadn’t tried but when you see the views it’s all worth it!
