Durham Tees Valley Airport is located in North East England on the southern edge of the Tees Valley area 6 miles from Darlington and about 20 miles south of Durham. Although the airport is relatively small, it is undergoing a huge redevelopment programme and currently has reasonably good transport links.

Taxi
There is a taxi stop just outside the arrivals hall to the right as you leave the airport. There are usually taxis waiting to meet all arriving flights, but it is a good idea to book your taxi in advance. The fare to Durham is about £30, to Middlesbrough about £17 and to Newcastle about £50.

Car
There are good roads around the airport with very little congestion. You'll find easy access to the A1 (M1) motorway to London in the South and Newcastle in the North. From Durham Tees Valley Airport it's just a 15 minute drive to Darlington, 20 minutes to Middlesbrough and 40 minutes to Durham. Bus
The Tees Valley Sky Express direct bus service (737) operates between the airport, Darlington train station and town hall and is free for air passengers - keep your ticket or boarding pass to show the driver. Train
Darlington train station is less than 10 miles from the airport and on the main line rail route between York and Newcastle. From here you can take direct services to Edinburgh, Newcastle, York, Leicester, Leeds, Sheffield and London, and connecting services to destinations all over Britain. There's direct free bus service (see above) to and from the airport every 30 minutes.
